How to Stand Out in a Crowded GITEX 2026 Hall With Interactive Technology

By Lazulite Team. Last updated: 3 November 2026. GITEX facts checked on 27 October 2026.
To stand out in a crowded GITEX 2026 hall, put one moving feature where passers-by can see it from a distance. Then give them something hands-on to do, because people already taking part draw in the next visitors. GITEX Global 2025 had 6,800+ exhibitors and 2,000 startups from 180 countries, according to organiser Dubai World Trade Centre.
Asked to design a booth, 56% of US trade show attendees in Event Marketer's EventTrack 2026 survey would add more demos and 50% more technology. The GITEX booth ideas below match each technology to a goal, a stand size and an exhibitor type. At GITEX 2022, Lazulite Technology Services built an object recognition table for du, a UAE telecom operator. It also built trivia and sensor shooting games for Digital Dubai.
Six steps to stand out at GITEX 2026
- Pick one goal. Let it choose the technology.
- Plan one hero interaction. Give people something to see and something to touch.
- Use height, motion and light. Place the feature where two aisles can see it.
- Keep sessions short. One to three minutes keeps the queue moving.
- Brief staff on one opening question. Ask about the visitor's work first.
- Test it in the hall. Run every screen and sensor during build-up.

Why Do Visitors Walk Past Stands at GITEX?
Visitors walk past GITEX stands when nothing on them reads from the aisle or invites a first step. A flat screen showing a loop looks like every other stand nearby. To attract visitors to your booth, make the first action obvious and quick, show other visitors taking part, and have staff open with a question.
Dubai Media Office reported in April 2026 that GITEX Global recorded 10% growth in participation in 2025.
The Aisle Test: What a Visitor Judges in a Few Seconds
A visitor judges in a few seconds whether a stand is worth a detour. In a small 2019 DHBW Ravensburg eye-tracking study, 32 visitors at a real trade show booth looked at it for about 9.8 seconds on average. Free-standing towers drew about a quarter of that time.
In a matching lab test with 31 people, participants recalled canopies, towers and lighting, but not the text printed on them.
A 2010 study of one computer trade show by Gopalakrishna and colleagues found the typical visitor made about seven serious stand visits. To stand out at a trade show with 6,800+ exhibitors, design your stand for the passing glance.
When Every Stand Has an LED Wall, Screens Stop Working as a Hook
A looping video wall on its own rarely stops visitors at a technology show, where large screens are standard kit. Motion, height and physical objects stand out against rows of flat screens. Lazulite's dynamic LED walls, dynamic LED tables and kinetic displays fix this, because they move or respond to the visitor.
How Does the Move to Expo City Change What Gets Noticed?
Every stand starts with new halls, aisles and sightlines, because the Expo moves to Dubai Exhibition Centre, or DEC, at Expo City Dubai. The GITEX Summit stays at Dubai World Trade Centre, or DWTC, on 7 December. Check hall height, rigging, power and floor rules in the exhibitor manual.
New Aisles and Sightlines at Dubai Exhibition Centre
Your DWTC position does not carry over. Plan for visitors arriving from several aisles. Dubai Media Office reported in November 2025 that Phase 1 of the DEC expansion gives the venue 140,000 sqm of event space in total. Check your hall allocation in the exhibitor portal as soon as it opens.
A December Show in Tourism Season, With Expand North Star Alongside
December puts GITEX in Dubai's tourism season. When Dubai Media Office announced the move in October 2025, it said the timing gives visiting executives room for longer stays. Expand North Star, the startup and investor event, runs alongside GITEX at the same time, from 8 to 10 December.
Change show times or content between days for visitors on longer stays who return.
Align Your Stand With a Co-Located GITEX Show
Matching your main feature to a co-located show helps that audience find you. Co-located shows in 2026 include GITEX Agentix, GITEX World Robotix, GITEX Quantum Expo, GITEX MOBX and GITEX Retailx.
Which Interactive Technologies Work on a GITEX Stand?
Interactive technology works on a GITEX stand when it does one clear job. LED walls, kinetic pieces, robotic arms and holograms get attention. Tangible tables, transparent OLED and AR explain a product. Games and AI photobooths start conversations, AI avatars answer questions, and VR immerses one visitor at a time. No independent study ranks them by uplift.

Attention Technology: LED Walls, Holograms, Kinetics and Robotic Arms
Attention technology wins the first look from the aisle. On du's GITEX 2021 stand, a multidimensional volumetric LED display built by Lazulite made the brand theme appear as a floating hologram. Lazulite also builds dynamic LED walls and a hologram box set into an LED wall.
KUKA robotic arms, run by Lazulite engineers inside a fenced safety zone, move screens or products. Kinetic installations such as Kinetic DNA are trade show booth attractions that add movement above head height, inside your stand line.
Holograms and robotic arms hold a crowd when they reveal a real product.
Interaction Technology: Tangible Tables, Games, AR and VR
Interaction technology puts the product in visitors' hands. A tangible table, also called an object recognition table, is a touch table that identifies real objects set on it. Visitors pick up a product, set it down and see its details on screen.
In Freeman's April 2025 Trends Report, 96% of attendees said touching or testing a product makes them more confident advocating for it. Lazulite built an object recognition table for du at GITEX, where each product a visitor placed brought up its own content.
Games hold visitors for a full round, and a leaderboard shows passers-by that people are playing. For Digital Dubai's GITEX 2022 stand at Dubai World Trade Centre, Lazulite built a trivia game, a sensor shooting game and 360 VR. In Bizzabo's 2025 State of Events report, 77% of organisers rated gamification very or somewhat effective.
Lazulite's AR and VR experiences suit products too large to bring into the hall.
Conversation Technology: Live Demos and AI Avatars
Live demos and AI avatars start the conversation your sales team finishes. A demo running on a live service lets visitors watch the product work in real time. An AI avatar, like the real-time streaming AI assistant avatar Lazulite built for Mubadala, answers questions while staff are busy.
Choose a streaming avatar when the hall network is reliable, and an offline assistant when it is not. Plan avatar answers in Arabic and English from the start.
Our guide to turning a crowd into qualified leads at GITEX covers the next step.
How Do You Choose the Right Technology for Your GITEX Goal?
Choose GITEX stand technology by working back from one goal. A product launch needs a reveal the aisle can watch. A complex service needs something visitors can touch. A meetings target needs demo stations that sort visitors by interest. Then check it fits your stand size, staff and timeline.
GITEX goal to technology matrix
| Your GITEX goal | Technology that fits | Why it works on the show floor | What to measure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch a product | Robotic arm or hologram reveal | The aisle watches the reveal | Crowd at each show time |
| Explain a complex service | Tangible table | Visitors touch the product | Completed sessions |
| Show a live network or AI capability | Live demo or AI avatar | Visitors see it work | Questions asked |
| Attract investors | Demo plus QR code to the deck | Investors judge it in two minutes | Deck views |
| Book enterprise meetings | Demo stations by product line | Stations sort visitors by interest | Meetings booked |
| Build awareness for a government service | Bilingual service demo | Citizens can try the service | Sessions completed |
| Create shareable content | AI photobooth | Visitors get a photo to post | Photos shared |
Start With the One Sentence a Visitor Should Remember
Write the sentence a visitor should repeat after the show, then pick the technology that proves it. "Our network carries live camera footage" points to a live demo.
Check That the Technology Tells Your Product Story
Technology unrelated to the product can draw a crowd that never learns what you sell. Ask what a visitor learns in the first minute.
GITEX Stand Ideas by Stand Size and Budget
On 9 to 18 sqm, run one compact interaction: a kiosk, AI photobooth, tangible table or hologram box. Around 36 sqm fits one main piece plus a demo point. From about 54 sqm, add a feature seen across the hall, several stations and a meeting area.
Entry is branded rental kit, Mid adds custom content or one custom piece, and Integrated plans stand and technology as one build.
Interactive stand ideas by size and budget, Lazulite planning estimates
| Stand size | Hero feature | Interaction feature | Staff to run it | Budget tier | Rent or custom |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Expand North Star one-day pod | Tall screen or hologram box | Tablet or kiosk demo | 1 to 2 | Entry | Rent |
| 9 to 18 sqm | Raised LED screen or hologram box | Tangible table, kiosk or AI photobooth | 2 to 3 | Entry | Rent |
| 18 to 54 sqm | LED wall or kinetic piece | Game or demo zone | 3 to 5 plus an engineer | Mid | Rent with custom content |
| 54 to 150 sqm | Robotic arm or kinetic ceiling | Two or three stations and a meeting area | 6 to 10 plus engineers | Mid to Integrated | Mix of rent and custom |
| Over 150 sqm, double-deck or pavilion | Feature seen across the hall | Several zones and set show times | 10 or more plus a technical team | Integrated | Custom |
Startup Pods and Small Stands: One Hero and Height
Small booth ideas rely on height and one interaction that takes under two minutes. Put a tall element at the front corner so it reads from both directions.
Mid-Size Stands: One Attraction Plus One Demo Zone
A mid-size stand needs one attraction facing the main aisle and one demo zone set back inside it, with queue space between them.
Large Stands, Double-Decks and Pavilions: Zones and Set Show Times
Large stands work as a route through zones. Add a show moment on a fixed schedule, such as a robotic arm reveal on the hour. One Lazulite team can handle exhibition stand design and build with the technology. It did this on the Bluecherry stand for Etihad Rail at Make it in the Emirates, MIITE 2026.
Interactive Stand Ideas for Startups, Enterprises, Government Entities and Telcos
A startup pod needs a demo an investor can judge in two minutes, while a government stand needs bilingual content and a VIP route. Enterprise brands and telcos need a live demo that runs at set times. Each needs content in Arabic and English.
Startups at Expand North Star
A startup pod at Expand North Star needs one demo and a QR code to your deck beside it. Raise the screen above head height so visitors can see it over the crowd at the next pod.
Enterprise Technology Brands
Tech booth ideas for enterprise brands work on a schedule. A live AI or robotics demo on the hour fills the stand at known times.
Government Entities and Pavilions
Ministries and authorities need Arabic and English content from day one, a clear VIP tour route and service demos citizens can try. At MIITE 2026, Lazulite built six Mini Holotubes and an RFID tangible table for the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
Telcos
Telcos stand out by showing the network do something visitors can see. For du at GITEX, Lazulite built a live 5G security camera demo. A du Cube on a kiosk triggered a satellite zoom to live show-floor footage on an LED wall.
International First-Time Exhibitors
Exhibitors new to GITEX Dubai can rent technology locally instead of shipping it. Lazulite rents products from its own range with engineers on the stand for all four Expo days.
How Do You Design a Stand Around Interactive Technology?
Place the main feature where two or more aisles can see it, and keep queues inside the stand line. Plan light, sound, power and network before the stand drawings go in. The GITEX exhibitor manual for Dubai Exhibition Centre sets the rules for each.
Height, Sightlines and Where the Hero Feature Goes
Put the hero feature high, on the corner that faces the main flow. Large screens, rigged items and moving machinery such as robotic arms usually need organiser approval through your stand drawings.
At DWTC, the venue's rigging page names DXB Live as "the sole provider of all top and primary rigging". Confirm who rigs at DEC before you design anything that hangs.
Queues That Pull People In Instead of Blocking the Aisle
A visible queue draws more visitors, as long as it sits inside your stand. DWTC's published venue rules forbid displays and furniture in walkways. Check the DEC rules in your GITEX manual. Give the queue something to watch, such as a live leaderboard.
Light, Sound, Power and Network in a New Hall
Neighbouring LED walls will compete with yours. Test brightness in hall light during build-up. DWTC's published rules say stand noise must not stop visitors hearing emergency announcements.
Check the DEC limits in the GITEX manual, order power early and connect each demo by cable instead of hall Wi-Fi. Games with sound, such as those in Lazulite's crowd-pulling brand activations, need the same noise check.
How Do You Use Interactive Technology Before, During and After GITEX?
Before GITEX, book rental kit, test it in the hall and tease it in meeting invites. During the Expo, give engineers the kit, hosts the queue and sales staff the conversations. After 11 December, reuse the content and report what stopped people.
Before the Show: Book, Test and Tease
In early November, book rental products with your own content, because a fully custom build is already tight for 8 December. Test every screen and sensor during build-up, and show the main feature in invitations and social posts.
During the Show: Staffing and Backups
Put an engineer on every shift and keep a backup for every screen and sensor.
After the Show: Reuse the Content and Measure What Stopped People
Measure stops and interactions to know whether your stand stood out. Track sessions completed, photos shared and meetings booked. No reliable, current dwell-time benchmark is published. In Event Marketer's EventTrack 2026 survey, 87% of US trade show attendees told someone who was not there about their experience.
Post recap clips in the days after the Expo closes, while those conversations are still happening. Rented hardware with your own content can travel to other GCC shows, and Lazulite works across all six GCC countries.
Stand Design Mistakes That Make GITEX Stands Blend In
GITEX stands blend in when the technology is static, unrelated to the product or left without staff to talk to visitors. Avoid these planning gaps:
- Another flat LED loop with no motion or height
- A feature or queue that blocks the aisle
- A queue with nothing to watch
- English-only content for a GCC audience
- Audio louder than the manual allows
- No engineer on the stand during open hours
- Nobody free to pass engaged visitors to sales
GITEX 2026 Stand-Out Checklist
Work through this checklist from early November to 11 December.
Before 8 December
- One goal sentence agreed
- Main feature visible from two aisles
- Sessions of one to three minutes
- Rigging, power and noise checked in the manual
- Content in Arabic and English
- Technology tested in hall light during build-up
During the Expo
- Show times posted and an engineer on every shift
- Backup kit on site
After 11 December
- Clips reused in recap posts
- Sessions, shares and meetings reported to sales
GITEX Booth Ideas FAQs
What can I put on my GITEX stand to attract visitors?
Put something visitors can do on your GITEX stand: a demo, a hands-on trial or a short game tied to your product. In Event Marketer's EventTrack 2026 survey, 47% of US trade show attendees said a product demo motivates them to interact with an exhibit. Only free samples ranked higher, at 49%.
How do I make a small stand or startup pod stand out at GITEX?
A small GITEX stand needs height and one fast interaction to stand out. A raised screen or hologram box reads from the aisle on a small footprint. Pair it with a demo under two minutes and keep the front clear so people can step in.
Is it too late to add interactive technology for GITEX 2026?
Adding interactive technology for GITEX 2026 is still possible in November with rental hardware and custom content. Rental products can usually be branded in two to four weeks. Allow six to ten weeks for a custom build. Check the exhibitor manual first, because deadlines for stand drawings, rigging and power orders may have passed.
Can I rent holograms, LED walls and VR in Dubai for GITEX?
Hologram boxes, LED walls, VR pods and games can all be rented in Dubai for GITEX show days. Check the content format, viewing angle, power and floor space before you book. Lazulite rents its Dynamic LED Wall With Holobox, VR Pod and other products with on-site engineers.
What drives the cost of interactive technology for a GITEX stand?
The cost of GITEX stand technology depends on rental or custom build, content production, the number of show days and on-site engineering. Rigging, power orders and freight add to it. Ask each supplier for an itemised quote, with content and engineering on separate lines.
Who can supply and run interactive technology for a GITEX stand in Dubai?
Lazulite Technology Services, a Dubai event technology company founded in 2016, supplies and runs interactive technology for GITEX stands. It has 40+ products, in-house engineers and a stand-building team, and has supported 100+ GCC exhibitions. Its GITEX work includes projects for du and Digital Dubai. Ask any supplier for past show work.
