World Defense Show 2028 · Riyadh
International defence companies, Saudi suppliers and national pavilions share one site at World Defense Show, with a runway beside the halls. Lazulite fabricates their hall stands in Dubai and fits screens, kiosks and Tangible Tables from its own catalogue. The fourth edition runs from 16 to 20 January 2028. Our crews have worked all three editions so far. Outside, we also build the environment around your platform.

Founded by GAMI, Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Military Industries, World Defense Show gathers the defence industry in Riyadh every two years.
Show details checked: 2 November 2026
World Defense Show spans air, land, sea, space and security, under a Vision 2030 goal to localise over half of Saudi military spending by 2030. GAMI, set up in 2017 to regulate and develop the sector, put localisation at 27.30% for 2025 and counted about 344 licensed facilities. SAMI, named the Kingdom's national defence and security champion, returns as National Strategic Partner.
WDS 2026 filled four sold-out halls with 272,500 square metres, 58% more than the first edition, the organiser reported. In the Saudi Supply Chain Zone, more than 50 Saudi SMEs met international defence companies. Outside, land platforms stood in the central courtyard and 113 aircraft lined the airside static display.
Official delegations shape the WDS aisles, and 513 came from 121 countries in 2026, the organiser says. It also counted 137,000 visitors and 1,486 exhibitors. The Meet the KSA Government Program covered procurement and localisation opportunities with Saudi authorities, and WDS Connect matched 486 suppliers with 21 buyers.
World Defense Show 2028 opens on Sunday 16 January and closes on Thursday 20 January. The 2024 and 2026 editions ran in February, and the first, in March 2022, lasted four days. Air and land live demonstrations run throughout, the organiser says.
World Defense Show 2028 is held at its own purpose-built site near Riyadh, 800,000 square metres with a 2,700 metre runway. Saudi Gazette located the 2026 edition in Malham, north of the city. Aircraft taxi from the runway straight into static display positions beside the hospitality suites.
Re-bookings for WDS 2028 reached high levels more than 19 months before opening, the organiser said in June 2026. Book space through its sales team first. Drawing, crew and service order dates follow in the Exhibitor Manual, inside the Exhibitor Portal, and Lazulite plans backwards from 16 January.

WDS sells space only from 24 square metres, with an optional upper level, and shell scheme stands below that. Lazulite trucks space-only stands from its Dubai workshop to Riyadh, dresses shell schemes on site and builds national pavilions through Custom Pavilion Building.
More than 120 naval assets filled the WDS 2026 Naval Zone, and an Immersive Room puts a naval buyer on a ship's bridge at sea. The Future Defense Lab gathered 76 companies in autonomy and robotics, whose exhibitors can run a handling routine on Kuka Robotic Arms.
Two organiser programmes feed WDS stand meetings, the Delegations Program and WDS Connect. Interactive Kiosks and Event Registration & Badging Systems log each as a delegation visit, WDS Connect booking or walk-up, with its domain.
Stands with a platform outside run in two places for five days, 16 to 20 January. Lazulite engineers cover hall and courtyard screens together, timing content around the flying displays, 172 of them in 2026.
Local content reached 40.91% of Saudi military spending in 2025, GAMI reported. A Dynamic LED Table maps the Saudi suppliers and plants behind your platform, region by region.
Space is one of the five WDS domains, and a satellite is a hard exhibit to bring to Riyadh. A Dynamic LED Wall With Holobox turns a satellite model in 3D at eye level.
The Future Talent Program took over day four of WDS 2026 and engaged 6,049 students. Interactive Kiosks on your stand collect CVs from Saudi graduates and file each against your in-Kingdom roles.
Unmanned systems had their own WDS zone in 2026, with 29 companies and more than 100 platforms. A VR Pod gives a buyer the operator's screen for a survey flight.
Space-only drawings for WDS follow the Exhibitor Manual in the organiser's Exhibitor Portal, and Lazulite draws to your copy. Any upper level or outdoor structure beside a platform gets its own sheets with structural notes.
For WDS 2026, contractors applied for the organiser's Contractor Workshop through the Exhibitor Portal, under Tasks & Forms. Lazulite enrols its Dubai and Riyadh crews by the route the 2028 portal sets. Stand staff apply for exhibitor badges once space is booked.
DSV was the official contractor for freight, lifting and handling at WDS 2026, so heavy crates and platforms moved through it. Lazulite lists your power, rigging and internet loads and files each service order in your name, by the route the Exhibitor Manual sets. Courtyard screens join the hall stand's orders.
Your choice of hall, courtyard or both sets the first WDS footprint, along with the domain you sell into.
Upper levels, courtyard structures and hall walls are drawn to the WDS Exhibitor Manual, then filed for review after you approve the layout.
While the stand is fabricated and its content run in Dubai, customs papers are drawn up for every crate bound for the WDS site.
Hall and courtyard crews build in parallel, and your team walks a powered stand before WDS opens on Sunday 16 January 2028.
When WDS closes on Thursday 20 January, your meeting records arrive sorted by delegation and WDS Connect booking, and the trucks load for Dubai.
Outdoor platforms give WDS a cost line of its own, the branded environment around an asset. Its shade, screens and power sit on top of the hall stand. Per square metre of hall floor, a typical WDS build costs AED 1,000 to 2,000 modular or AED 1,500 to 3,500 custom. Riyadh quotes tend toward the upper half of each band, as freight, travel and crew lodging add cost.
The WDS sales team sells three formats for 2028: shell schemes, space only and hospitality suites. The organiser publishes no space rates and invoices space itself. Our quote holds the stand, its technology and content, and five days of crew. The power, rigging and internet orders we file for you sit on separate lines, plus 15% Saudi VAT.
A hospitality suite can take delegation meetings off a WDS hall stand. Each turnkey suite runs to 90 square metres, with furniture and catering for up to 60 guests a day. Its balcony faces the static and air displays. Without an enclosed room, the hall stand often drops a band.

Localisation runs through the WDS programme, from the Saudi Supply Chain Zone to government briefings. Lazulite has told that kind of story for an industry ministry. At Make it in the Emirates 2026, it built an Interactive Mini Holotube and Tangible Table for the UAE's Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
At WDS, one exhibitor can hold a hall stand, a courtyard platform environment and a suite by the static aircraft. Lazulite runs the screens in all three from one content plan.
The organiser aims its shell scheme at SMEs and first-time exhibitors, and Lazulite fits one with the Tangible Tables and kiosks it puts on islands.

No. Some listings name that venue, but WDS has its own purpose-built site with a 2,700 metre runway and land demonstration areas. For 2026 that site was in Malham, north of the city, Saudi Gazette reported. Plan crew hotels, freight and visitor transport around Malham.
